Know Before You Go says Surfline. They make it possible to see before you go, literally! (Are you a hardcore dawn patrol freak, if so, no worries, you can see the wind and wave conditions before the sun rises on the pier.)

Looking at the image above, each blue square indicates that a cam is active on this surf spot. When on the actual Surfline Site, click the name of the cam to see it. And if you like, look at a recording of the waves on a particular day and time, watch yourself, I do.

♦ 17th St. Cam. Gives a good overall view of the area, the camera uses a zoom to change the amount of area displayed.

C St. Overview Surf Report & Forecast on Surfline -This is one of my favorite views of a beautiful Southern California surf spot to just leave on the screen to watch. A great spot for a Surfline HD cam.
♦ C St. Overview HD Cam & Surf Report. Extremely long rights on the best swells. What a paddle back out. Plenty of SUP Surfers there, more towards the longer board size.
